This was probably one of the best dining experiences of my life. I'm quite hesitant to try new places but the ambience was so welcoming. The waitress made this experience worth it. Hanya was incredibly nice and catered to our every need. She was so helpful and especially kind enough to explain the menu, I'm definitely coming back again!

We rated this place a 5 star!
Everything came out perfect from the chips with salsa to the drinks and main menu! We would highly recommend this place if anyone asks for a Mexican restaurant.
People were friendly and welcoming. They aim to please you! -

On a Thursday my co workers and I decided to grab lunch at this Restaurant since our training was at the Child Support Building across the street. One of my co workers recommended this place as he is a Merced native.
So all four of us walked across from the training and was promptly seated. We scanned the menu and I decided to get the 2 item lunch combo which came out to $9.49 with tax. I got the taco, rice, beans and enchilada all chicken.
The wait for our food was not too bad as we all were starving which if you are very hungry feels like forever. After about 15 minutes they come out with our food piping hot.
This corner Mexican restaurant definitely gets filled up. Every booth and table was taken. We all happily cleaned our plates and left full. The food was well seasoned. The salsa for the chips was spicy but still good and everything was flavorful.
As being a county employee we cannot consume alcohol so I did not get a chance to try their margarita :/ which saddened me.
But anyhow their drinks look bomb. If I am in the area I will be back. The customer service is great, no complaints. -

Sad to say, I am actually giving this place 0 stars (I have to give at least one star to pair a review) for multiple reasons but mostly due the horrible customer service. My mom is a vegetarian and asked for nachos without meat or beans(since they make the beans with lard, which most places do) but when they brought them out I noticed slivers of carnitas on the nachos. I pointed it out to the waitress and she tried to convince me that it was an onion. I eat meat, so I know the difference. My husband found another piece and we both ate it in front of the waitress to confirm it was in fact meat. She then said that the cook must have used the same spoon so a little bit of meat got on the chips, hoping we'd be okay with that... but that doesn't make it edible. We had to ask if we can get a new plate and she wasn't sure if the cook would be okay with that, very strange. She seemed to be afraid of the cook. She came back after asking the chef and the chef said she can make us a new plate but will charge us. We were SO shocked. It was their mistake and yet we are to pay for it? We asked to speak to the chef but she refused to come out because she was too busy in the kitchen. We explained to the waitress that this is unheard of and when this mistake happens at restaurants, which is often and okay, the staff voluntarily brings out a new fresh dish without us even having to ask. EVERYWHERE but this place. She said sorry and said it wasn't her decision and then explained that even the chips are fried in some sort of meat fat. The rest of us had only a couple of bites of food when this all occurred. We decided to leave this place altogether and my mom was insistent on paying because they weren't forgiving and brought us a bill for the three remaining meals. My husband asked to speak to the manager, he/she wasn't there, then asked for the owners number, he/she wasn't there. He owns a restaurant himself and knows that you have to allow customers to speak to a manager at minimum. He pressed on until the waitress gave him a number which we believe to be fake since no one picks up. I am still in complete shock at the lack of customer service and lack of understanding. We actually came on a recommendation and will have to make people aware of this sad incident. The two bites of food I did have were not my favorite. The enchilada sauce was tomato sauce with water, pretty lackluster if you ask me. They clearly don't care to gain more business. We ended up at La Hacienda and we had the complete opposite experience and much better food.
